Basic protection equipment the bodyguard has a wide range of tools and support available for performing protection tasks, and will vary depending on the details or nature of the task at hand. With high-tech equipment and tactical equipment flooding the market, bodyguards sometimes don't know where to start when it comes to the load of basic equipment. In this article, I will discuss some basic equipment I try to carry with me when performing tasks. Before we start, I think it is important to define the basic roles and responsibilities of bodyguards. Private bodyguards are trained individuals whose duty is to protect specific individuals, groups or their assets. This role includes not only protecting against physical threats, but also the overall threat of customers, whether it is their reputation, mental health or dignity. Bodyguards work in different capacities in different environments around the world and usually need to travel immediately after receiving notice. Experienced bodyguards will set different equipment loading for different situations, and will use their experience and knowledge to add or design these equipment according to the specific circumstances of details and their roles and responsibilities at work. Communication equipment: communication capability is crucial when playing a protective role. Whether you are communicating with customers, team members or coordinating things from a logistics perspective, you should have at least one communication device that has been tested and used in the specific environment you want to operate (I recommend backup). You should be familiar with the device and its operation, and there should always be a way to charge the device. Whether it's a mobile phone, radio or satellite phone, you should carry additional batteries, charging system, portable mobile power supply, etc. A set of communication accessories may also be required: microphone (microphone), Bluetooth / standard headset or headset may be required as appropriate. Tactical flashlight: the ability to see in the dark is useful in all situations. I never regret carrying this gadget, whether I search in the dark vehicles, under the hotel bed, or in the case of insufficient light for visible communication with my teammates. And don't forget that although many things happen in a well lit daytime environment, you can never guarantee that your protection will not last until night. Mobile phone flashlight lights are good, but compact lights with high brightness are useful in many cases. Medical equipment: the task risk of many bodyguards is relatively low, especially in China, but in medical treatment, you are more likely to wrap a sprained ankle or clean abrasions. You have the ability to stop bleeding, stick splints, wrap wounds and establish respiratory tract. It is the primary task of most professional bodyguards. Regardless of the situation, I will carry a small personal first aid kit (ifak) and a wider range of trauma kits (including AEDs) (there will also be vehicles and hotel rooms). The type of supplies you decide to package will depend on different factors: location, threat assessment, environment, customer needs, etc. If your location will keep you and your customers away from EMS, it is important to carry emergency medical supplies with you to stabilize the medical risks of your customers. Multifunctional tools: a small multifunctional tool can be handy in countless situations. Whether you use a screwdriver to take out the battery pack or need a knife to open the package, these tools are small and compact and do not occupy too much room. Personal protective equipment (PPE): in today's climate, carrying PPE is more important than ever before. This may include hand sanitizer, masks, glasses, masks, sunscreen, etc. Notepad: carrying a small notepad and pen can be used for anything, from recording the license plate or room number to drawing the building layout. Although it's easy to take notes on your mobile phone, when the technical decision disappoints you (when there is no power or signal), it's always best to have another backup option. Miscellaneous tools: tape, zipper / elastic cuffs, sharps, etc. There are so many situations where small and useful things like these can help you that I can't explain. But the ability to "repair or improvise" in the backpack pocket can make the bodyguard's work easier. Food and water: depending on the task, it may be difficult to find and / or have time to replenish energy for your body. Preparing items such as protein bars, drinks and even caffeine in advance can help you stay in full shape. Keep a good state at all times. Please remember that in order to take good care of customers, you must take good care of yourself first. Weapons: I put this item at the end of my list because I personally don't always think carrying weapons is a necessity, but this is a situational point of view. Depending on the type of work you do, the ability and need to carry weapons depends not only on your specific license and qualification, but also on the task at hand and legitimacy. Every private bodyguard should realize that the primary task is to prevent, avoid and degrade. These tools can only be used as a last resort. If you decide that you need to carry a weapon, you'd better be well trained and prepared in its use and the legitimacy involved in deploying it. The above are some of the most basic preparations. The tasks and nature of each bodyguard are different and change by themselves. However, please remember, as a bodyguard, you must be careful in everything. No matter what the task is, planning is the key to ensure that you take into account your actual needs, customer needs and emergency plans. If you find yourself unsure of what to prepare for this task, it's best to get guidance from another (experienced old Bodyguard). Remember, before the protection task begins, prepare for the worst and hope for the best!
