Customer Q&A

What is the core way for private bodyguards to protect customers?

As a leader in bodyguard companies, I find myself planning complex, sensitive and often dangerous tasks in licensed and non licensed environments around the world. Many times, I never had the opportunity to pre deploy, or what we call pre deployment on-site investigation. We often find ourselves gathering information from several sources we can access and theoretically proposing the best plan to perform the task at hand. One thing I quickly learned is that when you have the opportunity to visit a place in advance, you should seize it. This is a concept that directly extends to the field of administrative protection. The better you understand and visualize the situation, the better you plan and execute. The details of VIP close protection are dynamic and will vary according to the following factors: location, type of details, threat assessment, roles and responsibilities, etc. Every bodyguard should have basic knowledge and some practical experience to promote progress, but many things will be learned and improved over time and repeated. Regardless of the level of experience, an in-depth checklist should be used when participating in mission planning. The list will be used as an orderly data collection system and as a fail safe to ensure that all important information is taken into account. A master list should be kept and then customized to the specific task at hand. Before dealing with the details, you will get some basic information about the upcoming work and customers. This is a good time to study and collect additional information to help you advance. Because you can get information through the Internet, you can easily get some of the data you initially need before you leave the office. Site / site information, routes and local service information will help you understand what you are about to enter. If you are not familiar with this customer, collecting open source intelligence will help you better understand the customer's personality and help you conduct a basic threat assessment. With a ready-made navigation application, it seems superfluous to take a route yourself, but I always recommend that you plan your route in advance. Viewing the route yourself not only familiarizes you with the route and related landmarks, but also checks for any obstacles that may not be displayed in your application. You can also verify the alternate and third routes and add them to your plan. After arriving at your site / location, determine where you will park, get off, Valet, etc. This is also a good time to meet your contacts (if you have contacts). Let your POC take you through all the contents of the trip from beginning to end. If you don't have a PoC or itinerary, you can collect general information yourself. Access to all applicable locations and a thorough understanding of the regional layout will enable you to provide good customer service to your customers and plan emergencies from a security perspective. When you leave the website, make sure to browse your list and make sure you have collected all the necessary information. Make sure you annotate the project, such as contacts, layout, and any other relevant information. Once you have completed the live rehearsal, you should have enough information to plan the details of how it should normally run from start to finish. A key factor that needs to be addressed is emergency planning. The emergency plan shall cover all aspects of the task planning process. For each step, you should analyze the situation and imagine what may go wrong or may need to be adjusted, and make a backup plan. The most extreme contingency plan should include your emergency action plan (EAP). Your EAP should consider any aspect of the details that may evolve into an emergency: medical emergencies, personal attacks, natural disasters, etc. Make a plan for these situations and know where the nearest emergency service related to your location is. Pushing can give you a better and comprehensive understanding of how the details should work. It can not only give you visual and physical representation, but also provide you with more complex data lists, help you with risk assessment and plan details from the perspective of security and customer service. Use the checklist in action and make sure to add / edit it as your experience evolves. In my opinion, nothing can determine the result of detail better than the effort of planning in detail. Remember, prepare for the worst, but hope for the best.
